Great deal for the price.
First of all, I must say that the only tablet I have used before is the Wacom Intuos3, so I will be drawing my comparisons mainly between the Intuos3 and Intuos4. I understand that there are a multitude of tablets/digitizers in the market, such as Genie and *forgot the company's name*, but my review will mainly focus on Wacom's line of tablets. To start off, I must say that if you are considering a tablet, then you might want to first try the Wacom Bamboo/Bamboo Fun before shelling out hundreds for a Intuos.Everything aside, I love my Intuos4, and I think it is definitely a worthy upgrade from Intuos3 (or any other tablets in general), especially if you spend hours everyday with a pen.Intuos4, instead of the gray metallic look of the Intuos3, hosts a cool black matte finish with a high-gloss black side panel. It is a lot thinner than the intuos3, a much lower profile, and a 16:9 aspect ratio.Since most of us have widescreen monitors, I think it is...

Intuos 4: a worthy upgrade
Originally I gave Intuos4 Large a bad review because of the nib wear. But after 2 years of heavy use, my surface is completely smooth and no longer wears out my nibs at an alarming rate. Now I'm very satisfied with this model.PROS- More sensitivity, doubling from 1024 to a whopping 2048 levels. It's a nice improvement when sketching very light construction lines, ie "ghosting". Not a huge help for painting in Photoshop, since I use opacity and flow to adjust my paint layer applications.-Scroll wheel is a nice addition and offers good control when zooming.-OLED screen for shortcuts is also a nice addition in case you forget the express key assignments.-Like it's intuos3 predecessor, the pen is ergonomic and comfortable.-Pen holder has good functionality because it now holds your spare nibs. Convenient, since you will need to replace nibs like crazy.-Widescreen formats now for all sizes...

If only the nib wear wasn't so frequent....
I think I need to preface this review with how it was shipped. Since I purchased this from Amazon, UPS frequently looses my packages and wish they would have allowed me to deliver it to my PO BOX (which is at a USPS post office) via USPS since I haven't lost a package from them yet. I also noticed that anything shipped via USPS uses Amazon packaging that protects my products well. UPS doesn't seem to have the same standard of care. Now onto the review of the nibs themselves. If anyone owns an Intuos 4 you already know that the nib wear is more frequent on this line of tablets than its predecessors. This means you'll be purchasing more than the older lines. I don't mind buying a set a year but this can add up in cost, which is why I can't give it the full 5 stars because these won't last as long as the older model nib kits. The nib kit despite frequent wear is a good bargain since unlike the older intuos 3 kit, this offers another set of nibs. The kit...

Not fully as advertised
The picture on this product is a little misleading- you actually only get ONE black nib, five felt, five spring, and five white-inside ones. The picture shows you getting five black plastic nibs, but the small print on the page says you get one, and the product arrives as stated. So just a heads-up- if you're looking specifically for the hard plastic nibs, this only comes with one. (I personally prefer the other three over them, so this is still a good buy, but just thought people might like to know.)

Nice assortment - needs a reusable sorted container
Nice assortment of tips, etc. for the Intuos pens. I have the medium Intuos 4 tablet and love it. This adds more options to the standard pen set and gives you the replacements you will need if you use a tablet a lot.It should come with a storage container for keeping all the tips separated and easy to access. Having them delivered in little plastic bags is not convenient. That's my only complaint.Arrived quickly in perfect condition. Just needs better packaging.

Customer Review

There my be a different version of this product
I think this because my experience was different then other reviewers. It was not a tight fit. The Intuos 4 fits perfectly. However, there are not little pockets as another reviewer mentioned. Just one tubular attachment that the pen can slide into. No areas for other accessories. I also really like the material it is made out of. I could see it protecting the tablet much better than other foams.

Tight for Intuos4
Listed product size is incorrect at 16.5 x 12.6. Actual outer size is 15.4 x 11.75". Packaging says for tablets up to 14.6" x 10" (Intuos4 exact size). Simple looking but it appears to be well constructed. The Intuos4 fits but it's really tight on the sides. It's a soft case and will protect the tablet from bumps but with its tight fit I'm not sure if it will protect well against drops. If you're like me and don't need to take the tablet on the road much this case is fine. If you take your tablet on the road a lot maybe get a case that offers better protection.

Good stuff!!!
As the other reviewer said, a tight fit. But not in a way where it's hard to move in and out but its more of a secure fit than tight. It has slots for the pen and the pen tips. Also, roomy enough for practically any USB cable.

Customer Review

Much better quality than the original Graphire pen
Pros: Also compatible with the original Graphire tablets (CTE-xxx). Better than a mouse when used with a Wacom tablet; works with no bugs or issues; very good build quality; appears and feels reliable; comfortable to hold; and attractive appearance.Cons: Price is a bit steep. But I double it as a mouse, so it's reasonable after all. This also works with the original Graphire tablets (CTE-xxx). I bought it to replace my less than two year old Graphire pen. This is of much much better quality. Looks like Wacom has realized that it made a terrible pen for an otherwise excellent tablet for the Graphires. The Graphire pen was extremely unreliable and also very uncomfortable. I heard many complaints and those complaints had a reason. The Graphire pen had a terrible design, especially with the rubber covering. The buttons themselves surrounded by the rubber clothing were also poorly made. It never felt good in your hand, and it became nearly unusable after a short...

Wacom bamboo (pen)
The Wacom Bamboo pen is really something else, at least, compared to my old Graphire 4.The sensitivity is pretty amazing--really, it has a lot of depth. It took me a few days to get used to it, actually!I bought two graphire 4 tablets-- both pens, at around the same time first started losing buttons, and then the eraser would give out...then it wouldn't work right etcetcetc, whatever was wrong with those has been fixed with this. I've had it for quite a bit now and nothing is falling off or has stopped responding. The only reason why I had to get a new one was because my dog ate the end off of my other. It's been noted that it feels comfortable in your hand, and this is also true!Because I knew just what I was purchasing, I didn't need to know anything ahead of time. It could be noted that the pen seems to be interchangeable with other tablets. But I'm not sure on how many...

new pen for old tablet
I got a Wacom CTE-430 Graphire tablet some years ago, then at one point sat on the pen and broke it. The Bamboo fun pen works perfectly with my old tablet, and everything installed right the first time on OS X 10.5.7, and it responds to pressure in Photoshop without a hitch. It is nicer to hold than the old pen, the rocker button works more cleanly, and it's nicer looking too. A little more money and I could have bought a new tablet, though, and I was tempted. But luckily I am cheap, and now I am pleased with my purchase.
